Around 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 30, Con Edison reported 4,122 customers having outages across the county.

Communities with the largest amount of customers left in the dark include Mamaroneck and Harrison (970), Yonkers (727), North Castle (297), and Mount Kisco (189).

Additionally, New York State Electric & Gas reported 5,359 customers left in the dark in its service area, with the most affected municipalities including North Castle, Pound Ridge, Bedford, and Cross River.

Extra line and tree crews were pre-staged in New York to prepare for the cold front and assist with repairs, NYSEG announced on Tuesday, Nov. 29.

The outages are a result of downed trees and powerlines across the county, including in New Castle, where police said multiple roads were affected by the heavy winds.

Roads affected include Route 100, which has a lane closure, according to police.

"Treat all downed wires as if they are live. Be mindful that downed wires can be hidden from view by tree limbs, leaves, etc." police said.

Those without power can report their outages to Con Edison by calling 1-800-75-CONED (1-800-752-6633), according to police. Those who are customers of NYSEG can report their outages by calling 800-572-1131.
